Our Secret Sauce

Our clients and partners often ask, “What’s in Accent’s secret sauce?”. They recognize that there’s something special about our culture and the way we operate, but it’s hard to pinpoint exactly what’s in the recipe unless you’re in the kitchen. Today, we’re letting you in on one of our secret ingredients: our incredible roster of event staff.

At any given time, we have a team of over 100 Event Staff members made up of service-minded individuals from hospitality students to retirees, to former industry colleagues who want to stay involved with our events community. Accent staff aren’t temp staff or 1099 contractors – we employ them as part-timers, meaning they are uniformed, trained and expected to embody the Accent Way. We continually invest in our team with continuous training, on-site coaching, mentorship and exposure to new skills, and the friendships and relationships that have formed amongst our staff over the years are incredibly rewarding to see.

Our event staff serve as an extension of our team, our clients' teams and Indy's team. Many were born and raised here, while others chose to make Indy their home. Regardless of where they started or how they got here, they are all ambassadors for the city we love. Some of our team members are with us for a few years while they’re networking and learning the local events market as students, and our longest-tenured staff member has been with us for 17 years because they simply love the work they do.

In this business, our job is to deliver experiences that last a lifetime and it’s a true privilege to watch our people contribute to those unforgettable moments. Every act of service—from snapping a group photo to guiding a guest or simply offering a kind word—is a powerful reminder of the lasting memories we help create. We're so proud to have a number of Visit Indy ROSE (Recognition of Service Excellence) Award honorees on our staff, and we’ve loved seeing our team members go on to land full-time roles in major venues, restaurants and hotels over the years, allowing us to keep growing our relationships in exciting new capacities.
