OUR
EDGE

INDEPENDENT, LOCAL FEMALE-OWNED COMPANY

Located in the heart of downtown Indy since 1989, we’ve built unmatched relationships with hotels, venues, vendors and the City of Indianapolis, giving us an edge no other company in this market can offer. With decades of expertise, we create logistically seamless experiences, using every resource at our disposal to exceed your goals and expectations. Because we’re independent, you’re working directly with ownership and a team that chooses to live, work, spend and play in Indy - our roots run deep, and our passion for this city drives everything we do.

WE TAKE BEING LEGIT VERY SERIOUSLY

Accent Indy is the only DMC in Indiana accredited by the Association of Destination Management Executives International (ADMEI), and our team includes the state’s only Destination Management Certified Professionals (DMCPs). We also carry an insurance policy with higher-than-industry standards and thoroughly vet every vendor - ensuring they have proper coverage and align with the same contract terms we uphold for our clients.

THE ACCENT WAY

We live by a set of core values that guide everything we do:

  • Integrity & Respect: We do the right thing for our clients, partners and our city. Always.

  • Lifelong Learning: We continuously evolve, staying engaged in industry education, thought leadership and networking. we’ve been working for you long before you’ve hired us and what we learn on your program will benefit our future clients, too.

  • Win Some, Grow Some: We acknowledge our wins, analyze our challenges and always look for ways to improve.

  • Indy First: If we can make you fall in love with Indy as much as we have, that’s a win in our book. Even if Accent isn’t the right partner for you, we’ll still point you in the right direction if it means a win for our city.

OUR RESPONSIBILITY

What makes Accent special is that we are unapologetically who we are – empathetic, caring and responsible. While there’s a lot to stress about in today’s business and events climate, know that when we partner together, we’re already keeping these things in mind:

SUSTAINABILITY

It’s important to us that future generations have the same access to event experiences that we do today, which means taking ownership of the waste that our events create and doing our part in reducing our footprint where possible. We do this by:

  • Mindfully placing food and beverage orders to ensure enough for everyone while avoiding excess and commonly wasted products

  • Partnering closely with food and beverage providers to bring awareness to waste and to develop a strategy for diverting/repurposing

  • Encouraging post-event signage and supply donation to Teachers Treasures (we’re happy to pick up post-event and donate on your behalf!)

  • Requiring loose arrangements instead of centerpieces that use floral foam and donating floral to local organizations post-event when possible

NEURODIVERSITY

Understanding that every mind thinks, learns and processes differently, we are intentional about designing experiences and environments that are flexible and considerate of the needs of our neurodiverse community. We actively seek ways to support neurodivergent talent, implement thoughtful event design and create inclusive spaces where everyone can fully engage and contribute, including:

  • Maintaining (3) fully-stocked neurodiversity kits in our office to loan to clients who don’t have the resources to offer them on their own

  • Offering a complimentary quiet room setup for clients with programs over $50,000 (you provide the empty space and the sign - we’ll handle the rest!)

  • Encouraging our employees to “Work Your Way”, offering flexibility in schedule and environment throughout the work week

DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION & ACCESSIBILITY (DEIA)

Our team (including our vendors) are our competitive advantage. We believe that events are for everybody, no matter where you come from, what you look like or how you identify. We recognize that there is a gap in the industry’s DEIA efforts and where we could be as a community, so we do our part by:

  • Ensuring equitable hiring practices and pay for both full-time and part-time team members

  • Reducing bias and removing barriers

  • Ensuring that our vendor pool reflects the talent and community that Indy is known for

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
